Class, Race & Corporate Power

Brand identity, website, and SEO for Class, Race & Corporate Power, a political journal publishing work for activists, scholars, and community organizers.

Challenge

Class, Race & Corporate Power needed a brand as serious and unflinching as its subject matter — an identity and website that would command authority with an academic and activist audience while staying bold, legible, and easy to publish into.

Results

A bold, impactful, and captivating brand: a confident wordmark system, a website built to surface issues and articles clearly, and an SEO foundation that helps the journal's work reach the scholars, activists, and organizers it's written for.

About the Brand

Class, Race & Corporate Power is a political journal that publishes essays and peer-reviewed articles at the intersection of class, race, and corporate power. Founded in 2013, it exists to connect academics with organizers and activists working for social change around the world.

The brand had to earn trust with a demanding, intellectual audience — so the system leans on a strong serif wordmark and a restrained navy palette that reads as credible, editorial, and built to last.

The Process

How this brand came to life

  1. 01

    Research & Discovery

I dig into the business, its audience, and competitors to pinpoint what makes it stand out.

  2. 02

    Define Brand Strategy

I shape a strategy, mission, and positioning aligned with the client's goals.

  3. 03

    Concept Development

I explore visual directions — colour, type, and imagery — and present concepts for feedback.

  4. 04

    Design Exploration

I refine the chosen direction into a full system — logo, type, palette — then design the site.

  5. 05

    Finalization

I iterate on feedback, finalize every element, and deliver clear brand guidelines.
